The Red Egg

Out of all the holidays, Easter is considered to be the most important on the Greek calendar. The Red Egg dessert was designed to celebrate the unique traditions during this festive period. One of the many rituals that make Greek Easter special is the tradition of breaking the ‘Red Egg’ where everyone awaits the excitement of cracking their red eggs with friends and family. It is unthinkable to set an Easter table without them, and so we created our own delicious version; white chocolate egg shell filled with mahlepi yoghurt tapioca, Skinos Mastiha liqueur, and served with warm smoked almonds. Although the idea is not to crack your own egg, this dessert will have you wanting to be the first!
